What is Affiliate Marketing ?

Affiliate marketing is simply another way to make money online . It's like a virtual job , you work with a company virtually by helping them promoting some of their products either on your blog , website , by email and you get paid for that .

Companies want to sell their products , services or anything else , they want the maximum number possible of people to know their products and maybe buy them . For that they give you as a publisher a link or a code , banner of a certain product to show in your blog , website or anywhere else to referr people . And when someone is referred from your link and buy from the company , you earn a commission . This commission may be up to 75% in some companies while other ones offer just 10% .

Referring people to buy is only one example of affiliate types , and other  variations on this are when you earn a comission for referring people to take any kind of action ; For example ,to complete a survey , to sign up or give an email adress on some website , to install a software  or just to write a review about something.

Note :  Somtimes , it may be some affiliate platform that intermediate between you as a publisher and the advertiser ( the company ) . This third party manages the payments . Popular affiliate platforms are :

  -Amazon
  -Commission Junction

Is it that easy ?

Well it might be and it might not be , it depends on many factors :
 1 - Your niche .
 2 - Your traffic ( a main factor )
 3 - your techniques
 4 - Products you promote
 5 - your relationship with readers ( you must build trust )
 6 - all above and more .


Affiliate marketing or being a successful marketer depends on many factors as said above . Maintaining the passion and motivation is the an important and idispensable factor as well , once you're doing affiliate marketing you have to make it a hobby  , not just a money-making-quest . The bottom line , affiliate marketing is really an effective way to make money online , many people quit their jobs to live with affiliate income but that doesn't mean that it's easy and quick way to make money , as every profession it has its time of struggle but step by step you'll get to find ethical and suitable ways to promote products and beat the competition .
